24MAINTENANCEAnti-scalp RollersAnti-scalp rollers are correctly adjusted whenthey are slightly off of the ground when the deckis at the desired cutting height in the operatingposition. Anti-scalp rollers keep the deck in theproper position to help prevent scalping in mostterrain conditions.The anti-scalp rollers can be set in threepositions:• Upper position 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" grass• Middle position 2-1/2" to 4" grass• Lower position 4" to 6" grass.The rollers must be approximately 1/4" from theground.Caster WheelsCheck at 200 hour intervals. Check that wheelsturn freely. If wheels do not turn freely take theunit to your dealer for service.Foam filled tires or solid tires will void thewarranty.Removal and installationRemove nut and caster bolt. Pull the wheel out ofthe yoke and take care of the spacers. Install inreverse order. Tighten caster bolt.Tire PressuresAll tires must be at 15 psi / 103 kPa / 1 bar.IMPORTANT INFORMATION DO NOT adda tire liner or foam fill material to the tires.Excessive loads created by foam filled tires willcause premature failures.Only use O.E.M. specified tires.V-beltsCheck at 100 hour intervals of operation. Checkfor severe cracking and large nicks.NOTE: The belt will show some small cracks inusual operation.The belts are not adjustable. Replace belts if theybegin to slip from wear.Deck Belt Removal1. Park on a level surface. Apply park brake.2. Lower the deck into the lowest cuttingposition.3. Remove bolts from belt shields and removeshields.4. Remove any dirt or grass that may haveaccumulated around the cutter housings andentire deck surface.5. Loosen the nut securing the belt guide. Notethe position of the belt guide for reinstallation.
