27MAINTENANCECleaningRegular cleaning, especially under the mowerdeck, will increase the machine’s life-span. Cleanthe machine directly after use (after it is cooled),before the debris sticks.Do not spray water on the top of the mower deck.Use compressed air to clean the top side of themower deck. Do not use a high pressure washeror steam cleaner. Avoid spraying engine andelectrical components with water.Clean the underside of the deck with normalwater pressure. Attach the quick connect (fromthe accessory packet) to any garden hose. Aftermowing, snap the hose to the cleanout port andturn on water supply.IMPORTANT INFORMATION Special bladebolt is heat treated. Replace with a Husqvarnabolt if required. Do not use lower gradehardware than specified.Cutting BladesFor the best mowing results, it is important thatblades are correctly sharpened and not damaged.Replace blades that have been bent or crackedwhen hitting obstacles.Let the service workshop decide if a blade withlarge nicks can be repaired/ground or must bereplaced. Balance the blades after sharpening.Check the blade mounts.Blade replacement1. Remove blade bolt by turning counterclockwise.2. Install new or resharpened blade withstamped GRASS SIDE facing towardsground/grass (down) or THIS SIDE UP facingdeck and cutter housing.3. Seat the blade's opening firmly onto the cutterhousing.4. Tighten blade bolt securely.5. Torque blade bolt to 45-60 ft/lbs (60-81 Nm).Restart the mower and engage the blades to usethe spinning action to wash away debris. Makesure the hose is away from the mower blades.Do not rinse hot surfaces with cold water. Let unitcool before washing.CAUTION! Use protective glasseswhen cleaning and washing.HardwareCheck daily. Inspect the entire machine for looseor missing hardware.CAUTION! Blades are sharp. Protectyour hands with gloves and/or wind heavy clotharound the blades before handling.The sharpening of blades must becarried out by an authorized serviceworkshop.
