Maintenance BeforeoperationAfter 40hAfter 100hReplace the spark plug. XExamine the clutch, clutch spring and the clutch drum for wear. Replace if it isdamaged by an approved servicing dealer. XMake sure that the gear housing is filled with grease. XDo a check of all cables and connections. XTo adjust the idle speed1. Clean the air filter and attach the air filter cover.2. Start the product. Refer toTo start the product with acold engine on page 9.3. Turn the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until thecutting unit starts to move.4. Turn the idle adjustment screw counterclockwiseuntil the cutting unit stops.WARNING: If the cutting unit doesnot stop when you adjust the idle speed,speak to your nearest servicing dealer.Do not use the product until it is correctlyadjusted or repaired.Note: The idle speed is correct when the engineoperates smoothly in all positions. Refer toTechnicaldata on page 14 for the recommended idle speed.To clean the cooling systemThe cooling system keeps the engine temperaturedown. The cooling system includes the cooling fins onthe cylinder, the cylinder cover and the air intakethrough the crankcase.CAUTION: The air intake between thefuel tank and crankcase, is easily blocked byleaves. Clean the air intake fully.1. Clean the cooling system with a brush weekly ormore frequently if it is necessary.2. Make sure that the cooling system is not dirty orblocked.To examine the spark plugCAUTION: Always use therecommended spark plug type. Incorrectspark plug type can cause damage to theproduct.• Examine the spark plug if the engine is low onpower, is not easy to start or does not operatecorrectly at idle speed.• To decrease the risk of unwanted material on thespark plug electrodes, obey these instructions:a) Make sure that the idle speed is correctlyadjusted.b) Make sure that the fuel mixture is correct.c) Make sure that the air filter is clean.1073 - 006 - 03.12.2021 11
