If any sign ofexhaust leakage is found, stop using the machineand have it repaired immediately.• Note that failing to do so may result in the enginecatching on !re.Perform the procedures after every 100 hours of operation1. Remove the muf!er, insert a screwdriver into the vent,and wipe away any carbon buildup. Wipe away anycarbon buildup on the muf!er exhaust vent and cylinderexhaust port at the same time.2. Tighten all screws, bolts, and "ttings.3. Check to see if any oil or grease has worked its way inbetween the clutch lining and drum, and if it has, wipeit away using oil-free, lead-free gasoline.To check the air cooling fanWARNING• Never touch the cylinder, mufer, or spark plugwith your bare hands immediately after stoppingthe engine. The engine can b ecome very hotwhen in operation, and doing so could result insevere burns.• When checking the machine to make sure thatit is okay before using it, check the area aroundthe mufer and remove any wood chips or leaveswhich have attached themselves to the brushcut-ter. Failing to do so could cause the mufer tobecome overheated and that in turn could causethe engine to catch on !re. Always make sure thatthe mufer is clean and free of wood chips, leaves,and other waste before use.• Check the intake air cooling vent and the areaaround the cylinder cooling !ns after every 25hours of use for blockage. Note that it is neces-sary to remove the upper cover and the lowercover in order to be able to view the upper part ofthe cylinder.IMPORTANT• If waste gets stuck and causes blockage around theintake air cooling vent (12) or between the cylinder"ns, it may cause the engine to overheat, and that inturn may cause mechanical failure on the part of thebrushcutter.12To replace the gear oil• After "rst 25 hours of use, replace the gear oil.
