English – 15Starting a cold engineIGNITION:Slide the stop switch to theleft.CHOKE:Pull out the choke.DECOMPRESSION VALVE(272K)Press in the value to reducethe pressure in the cylinder,this makes starting the powercutter easier. Thedecompression valve shouldalways be used when starting.When the machine hasstarted the value automaticallyreturns to its original position.START THROTTLEPress down the catch forunintentional throttle (A).Apply full throttle using thethrottle (B). Press the startthrottle catch backwards (C).Starting a warmengineFollow the same procedure asfor a cold engine but do notpull out the choke.Start and stopWARNING! Before starting observe thefollowing:• Do not start the power cut without the cutting arm orcutting head fitted. Otherwise the clutch can comeloose and cause personal injury.• Always move the power cutter from the filling areabefore starting.• Ensure that you and the machine stand firmly and thatthe cutting discs rotates freely.• Make sure no unauthorised persons are within theworking area.!START AND STOPStartTake hold of the front handleusing your left hand. Placeyour right foot on the lowersection of the rear handle andpress the power cutter againstthe ground.Grip the starter with your righthand, and slowly pull thestarter cord out until you feelsome resistance (the pawlsgrip) now pull quickly andpowerfully.NOTE! Do not pull out thestarter cord completely and donot release the starter fromthe fully extended position.This can damage the powercutter.Press in the choke as soon asthe engine fires and repeatuntil the engine starts.When the engine starts,quickly apply full throttle andthe start throttle willautomatically disengage.WARNING! The cutting disc can rotate whenthe engine starts. Make sure it can rotatefreely.!StopThe engine is stopped byswitching off the ignition.(Slide the stop switch to theright.)ABC
