B. Adjustingthe lowspeedneedle(L)Fig 4:18Carry out fine adjustment as follows:1. Screw the L needle in slowly from the basic setting.Engine speed will increase and then decrease whenthe fuel-air mixture becomes too lean. Note the need-le setting at which engine speed is highest.2. Now unscrew the L needle and again note the settingat which engine speed is highest, Note that the engi-ne will run slower when the fuel-air mixture is too rich.3. Turn the L needle to the position giving the highestengine speed and then unscrew it by an amount cor, responding to ten minutes on a clock face to give theengine a slightly richer mixture.4. Set the idling speed by means of throttle stop screw Tto 2 200–2300 r/rein.5. Open the throttle smartly a couple of times to checkthat the engine responds. If it does not, unscrew the L needle by an amount cor-.- .responding to about three minutes on a clock face.Try again.C. Adjustingthe highspeed needle(H)Fig 4:19GAFuelsystem,carburetorRun the engine at maximum speed by holding thethrottle control firmly open. If the setting is correct theengine should “four-stroke”,Reduce engine speed by slowly screwing in H needleuntil fourstroking ceases. From this position, back it offcorresponding to ten minutes on a clock face.If a tachometer such as No. 5025036-01 is available, donot allow the engine to race at more than 11200 r/rein.Carburetor tuning is now finished and the throttle con-trol can be released.NOTE:A carburetor that is set to give too weak a mixture willresult in a considerable power loss. Tune the carburetorfor maximum power and not for maximum speed. Now adjust the H needle to the correct setting asfollows:4:5For Husqvarna Parts Call 606-678-9623 or 606-561-4983www.mymowerparts.com
