However, be-fore using the machine you should checkthat the bevel gear is filled three--quartersfull with grease. Use HUSQVARNA specialgrease.The grease in the bevel gear does not nor-mally need to be changed except if repairsare carried out.Sharpening grass cutters andgrass bladesS See the cutting attachment packaging forcorrect sharpening instructions.S Sharpen blades and cutters using asingle--cut flat file.S Sharpen all edges equally to maintain thebalance of the blade.WARNING: Always stop the en-gine before doing any work on thecutting attachment. This continuesto rotate even after the throttle hasbeen released. Ensure that the cut-ting attachment has stopped com-pletely and disconnect the HT leadfrom the spark plug before you startto work on it.WARNING: Always discard ablade that is bent, twisted, cracked,broken or damaged in any otherway. Never attempt to straighten atwisted blade so that it can be re-used. Only use original blades of thespecified type.Air filterThe air filter must be regularly cleaned toremove dust and dirt in order to avoid:S Carburetor malfunctionsS Starting problemsS Loss of engine powerS Unnecessary wear to engine partsS Excessive fuel consumptionClean the filter every 25 hours, or moreregularly if conditions are exceptionallydusty.Cleaning the air filterRemove the air filter cover and take out thefilter. Wash it clean in warm, soapy water.Rinse thoroughly. Ensure that the filter is drybefore refitting it.An air filter that has been in use for a longtime cannot be cleaned completely. Thefilter must therefore be replaced with a newone at regular intervals. A damaged airfilter must always be replaced.
