See the“What is what” section to locate where thisequipment is positioned on your machine.The life span of the machine can be re-duced and the risk of accidents can in-crease if machine maintenance is not car-ried out correctly and if service and/or re-pairs are not carried out professionally. Ifyou need further information please contactyour nearest service workshop.Throttle lockThe throttle lock is designed to prevent ac-cidental operation of the throttle control.When you press the lock (A) (i.e. when yougrasp the handle) it releases the throttlecontrol (B). When you release the handle,the throttle control and the throttle lock bothmove back to their original positions. Thismovement is controlled by two independentreturn springs. This arrangement meansthat the throttle control is automaticallylocked at the idle setting.IMPORTANT! All servicing and repair workon the machine requires special training. Thisis especially true of the machine’s safetyequipment. If your machine fails any of thechecks described below you must contactyour service agent. When you buy any of ourproducts we guarantee the availability of pro-fessional repairs and service. If the retailerwho sells your machine is not a servicingdealer, ask him for the address of your near-est service agent.WARNING: Never use a machinethat has faulty safety equipment!Follow the control, maintenanceand service instructions describedin this section. If your machine failsany of these checks contact yourservice agent to get it repaired.Make sure the throttle control is locked atthe idle setting when the throttle lock is re-leased.Press the throttle lock and make sure it re-turns to its original position when you re-lease it.Check that the throttle control and throttlelock move freely and that the return springswork properly.See instructions under the heading Start.Start the machine and apply full throttle.Release the throttle and check that thecutting attachment stops and remains at astandstill. If the cutting attachment rotateswith the throttle in the idle position then thecarburettor idle setting must be checked.See instructions under the headingMaintenance.
