• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean andfree from oil and grease. Slippery handles andgrasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling andcontrol of the tool in unexpected situations.Battery tool use and care• Recharge only with the charger specified by themanufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one typeof battery pack may create a risk of fire when usedwith another battery pack.• Use power tools only with specifically designatedbattery packs. Use of any other battery packs maycreate a risk of injury and fire.• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away fromother metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys,nails, screws or other small metal objects, that canmake a connection from one terminal to another.Shorting the battery terminals together may causeburns or a fire.• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected fromthe battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentallyoccurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected fromthe battery may cause irritations or burns.• Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged ormodified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibitunpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion orrisk of injury.• Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to fire ortemperature above 130 °C / 265 °F may causeexplosion.• Follow all charging instructions and do not chargethe battery pack or tool outside the temperaturerange specified in the instructions. Chargingimproperly or at temperatures outside the specifiedrange may damage the battery and increase the riskof fire.Service• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repairperson using only identical replacement parts. Thiswill ensure that the safety of the power tool ismaintained.• Never service damaged battery packs. Service ofbattery packs should only be performed by themanufacturer or authorized service providers.Pole pruner safety warnings - personal safety• Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chainwhen using the pole pruner. Before you start thepole pruner, make sure the saw chain is notcontacting anything. A moment of inattention whileoperating pole pruners may cause entanglement ofyour clothing or body with the saw chain.• Always hold the pole pruner with your right hand onthe rear handle and your left hand on the fronthandle. Holding the chain saw with a reversed handconfiguration increases the risk of personal injuryand should never be done.• Hold the pole pruner by insulated gripping surfacesonly, because the saw chain may contact hiddenwiring or its own cord. Saw chains contacting a "live"wire may make exposed metal parts of the polepruner "live" and could give the operator an electricshock.• Wear eye protection. Further protective equipmentfor hearing, head, hands, legs and feet isrecommended. Adequate protective equipment willreduce personal injury from flying debris oraccidental contact with the saw chain.• Do not operate a chain saw in a tree, on a ladder,from a rooftop, or any unstable support. Operation ofa chain saw in this manner could result in seriouspersonal injury.• Always keep proper footing and operate the chainsaw only when standing on fixed, secure and levelsurface. Slippery or unstable surfaces may cause aloss of balance or control of the pole pruner.• When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert forspring back. When the tension in the wood fibres isreleased, the spring loaded limb may strike theoperator and/or throw the pole pruner out of control.• Use extreme caution when cutting brush andsaplings. The slender material may catch the polepruner and be whipped toward you or pull you offbalance.• Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioningand changing the bar and chain. Improperlytensioned or lubricated chain may either break orincrease the chance for kickback.• Carry the pole pruner by the front handle with thepole pruner switched off and away from your body.When transporting or storing the pole pruner, alwaysfit the guide bar cover. Proper handling of the polepruner will reduce the likelihood of accidental contactwith the moving saw chain.• Cut wood only. Do not use pole pruner for purposesnot intended. For example: do not use pole prunerfor cutting metal, plastic, masonry or non-woodbuilding materials. Use of the pole pruner foroperations different than intended could result in ahazardous situation.• Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil andgrease. Greasy, oily handles are slippery causingloss of control.• Do not attempt to fell a tree until you have anunderstanding of the risks and how to avoid them.Serious injury could occur to the operator orbystanders while felling a tree.• This pole pruner is not intended for tree felling.Useof the pole pruner for operations different thanintended could result in serious injury to the operatoror bystanders.• We strongly recommend that first time users practicesawing logs on a saw horse or cradle.6 707 - 008 - 06.04.2021 |
