Secure hair so it is aboveshoulder level.• Always have a first aid kit nearby.Machine′s safety equipmentThis section describes the machine′s safety equipment,its purpose, and how checks and maintenance should becarried out to ensure that it operates correctly. See the”What is what?” section to locate where this equipment ispositioned on your machine.The life span or the runtime of the machine can bereduced and the risk of accidents can increase if machinemaintenance is not carried out correctly and if serviceand/or repairs are not carried out professionally. If youneed further information please contact your nearestservice workshop.KeypadMake sure the machine is switched on or off when theactivate/deactivate button (1) is pressed and held (>1sec.). The green LED (2) is lit or turned off.Flashing warning indicator (3) and green LED (2) is litcould indicate that: (Figure 5)• it is not possible to apply full power and, at the sametime, activate the machine. Release the power triggerand the machine is active.• the machine is blocked. Deactivate the machine.Remove the battery from the machine. Remove thegrass or other material that is wrapped around thetrimmer head.• the machine is overloaded due to heavy trimming.Release the power trigger and the machine is active.If the warning symbol (3) flashes, it indicates that themachine is too hot and the machine deactivates. Whenthe machine is restored to normal temperature it is againready to run and you can activate the machine.Solid red warning light (3) indicates service.Power trigger lockoutThe power trigger lockout is designed to preventaccidental operation of the power trigger. When you pressthe lock (1) (i.e. when you grasp the handle) it releasesthe power trigger (2). When you release the handle thepower trigger and the power trigger lockout both moveback to their original positions. This movement iscontrolled by two independent return springs. (Figure 6)Make sure the power trigger is locked when the powertrigger lock is in its original position. (Figure 7)Press the power trigger and make sure it returns to itsoriginal position when you release it. (Figure 8)Check that the power trigger and the power trigger lockoutmove freely and that the return spring works properly.(Figure 9) See instructions under the heading Start. Startthe machine and apply full power. Release the powertrigger and check that the cutting attachment stops andremain at a standstill.Cutting attachment guardThis guard is intended to prevent loose objects from beingthrown towards the operator. The guard also protects theoperator from accidental contact with the cuttingattachment. (Figure 10)Check that the guard is undamaged and not cracked.Replace the guard if it has been exposed to impact or iscracked.Always use the recommended guard for the cuttingattachment you are using. See chapter on Technical data.IMPORTANT!All servicing and repair work on the machine requiresspecial training. This is especially true of the machine′ssafety equipment. If your machine fails any of thechecks described below you must contact your serviceagent. When you buy any of our products we guaranteethe availability of professional repairs and service. If theretailer who sells your machine is not a servicing dealer,ask him for the address of your nearest service agent.! WARNING! Never use a machine withfaulty safety equipment. Never use a cuttingattachment without an approved guard.See the chapter on Technical data. If anincorrect or faulty guard is fitted this cancause serious personal injury.! WARNING! This machine is renowned forits low vibration load. Overexposure tovibration can lead to circulatory damageor nerve damage in people who haveimpaired circulation. Contact your doctorif you experience symptoms ofoverexposure to vibration. Thesesymptoms include numbness, loss offeeling, tingling, pricking, pain, loss ofstrength, changes in skin colour orcondition. These symptoms normallyappear in the fingers, hands or wrists.
