ASSEMBLY16 – EnglishFitting the bar and chainCheck that the chain brake is in disengaged position bymoving the front hand guard towards the front handle.Remove the bar nuts and remove the clutch cover (chainbrake). Take off the transportation ring (A).Fit the bar over the bar bolts. Place the bar in its rearmostposition. Place the chain over the drive sprocket locate itin the groove on the bar. Begin on the top edge of the bar.Make sure that the edges of the cutting links are facingforward on the top edge of the bar.Fit the clutch cover and locate the chain adjuster pin in thehole in the bar. Check that the drive links of the chain fitcorrectly over the drive sprocket and that the chain iscorrectly located in the groove in the bar. Tighten the barnuts finger tight.Tension the chain by turning the chain tensioning screwclockwise using the combination spanner. Seeinstructions under the heading Tensioning the chain.The chain is correctly tensioned when it does not sag fromthe underside of the bar, but can still be turned easily byhand. Hold up the bar tip and tighten the bar nuts with thecombination spanner.When fitting a new chain, the chain tension has to bechecked frequently until the chain is run-in. Check thechain tension regularly. A correctly tensioned chainensures good cutting performance and long life.Note: If clutch cover is difficult to remove, replace bar nuts,engage brake and rerelease (an audible click will beheard if released properly).! WARNING! Always wear gloves, whenworking with the chain.
