5 FRONT PANEL CONTROLS1 Power Switch: Press this switch to applypower to the FL 8380. When the FL 8380 isfirst turned on by pressing this switch, theStatus Mode Indicator 2 will turn green,and the Information Display # will light.Press the switch again to turn the unit off; theStatus Mode Indicator 2 will turn amber,indicating that the unit is in a Standby mode.When the FL 8380 is connected to a switchedAC outlet, such as those found on the back ofmany audio products, it will return to theStandby mode when power is applied to theswitched outlet without any further press of theswitch.2 Status Mode Indicator: When theFL 8380 is in the On mode, this indicator willglow green. When the unit is off, the indicatorwill glow amber, indicating that the unit is stillconnected to the AC main supply.3 Headphones Jack: Connect a set of stan-dard headphones to this jack for private listening.4 Headphones Level Control: Turn thisknob to increase or decrease the volume levelfor headphones connected to the FL 8380’sHeadphones Jack 3. Note that changing thislevel will not change the sound level for theunit’s main output, as that remains constant.5 CD Drawer: This drawer holds the discsthat will be played. Press the Open/Close but-ton 6 to open the drawer so that discs maybe inserted.6 Open/Close Button: Press this button toopen or close the disc drawer. DO NOT push thedrawer to close it or damage to the transportmechanism may result.7 Search Button: Press one side of this but-ton to search forward — or the other sideof the button to search backwards ‚through a disc to locate a particular portion ofthe disc being played.8 Skip Button: Press one side of this buttonto move to the next track —Í or the otherside of the button to move back to the previoustrack Ífifi on the disc being played.9 Stop Button: Press this button to stop thedisc currently being played. (See page 11 formore information.)) Play/Pause Button: Press this button tostart the playback of a CD. If the CD drawer isopen, pressing this button will automaticallyclose the drawer. Press this button once duringplay to momentarily pause a disc. When thebutton is pressed again, the disc will resumeplay at the point it was paused.! Disc Skip Button: Press this button tochange to the next disc.
