1. RANGE/GLP/ key: press to change the range or press and holdfor three seconds to enterGLP mode. Incalibration mode press to editthe date and time.2. Please check the preparation ofthe zero cuvette.Light Low: There is not enough light to performa measurement. Please check the preparation ofthe zero cuvette.No Light: The instrument cannot adjust thelight level. Please check that the sample doesnot contain any debris.Inverted Cuvettes: The sample and the zerocuvette are inverted.Zero: A zero reading was not taken. Follow theinstructions of the measurement procedure forzeroing the meter.Under Range: A blinking “200” indicates thatthe sample absorbs less light than the zeroreference. Check the procedure and make sureyou use the same cuvette for reference (zero)and measurement.Over Range: A flashing value of the maximumconcentration indicates an over range condition.The concentration of the sample is beyond theprogrammed range: dilute the sample andre-run the test.Standard Low: The standard reading is lessthan expected.Standard High: The standard reading is higherthan expected.Errors and warnings:Measurement procedure:1• Turn the meter on by pressing ON/OFF.2• When the beeper sounds briefly and the LCDdisplays dashes and “P1” (Low range), “P2”(Medium range) or “P3” (High range), themeter is ready. The code that appears onthe secondary display is the one of thelast selected range. If necessary, pressRANGE/GLP/ to change range. Theblinking “ZERO” indicates that theinstrument needs to be zeroed first.3• Add 0.5 mL of unreacted sample to thecuvette. Add 0.5 mL of HI 93735IND-0indicator reagent. With the plastic dropperfill the cuvette up to the 10 mL markadding HI 93735A-XR (X=L, M, H)reagent appropriate to the selected range.4• Add two drops of HI 93735B-0 bufferreagent. Replace the cap and invert 5 timesto mix.5• Place the cuvette into the cuvette holderand ensure that the notch on the cap ispositioned securely into the groove.6• Press ZERO/CFM and the lamp, cuvetteand detector icons will appear on the display,depending on the measurement phase.7• After a few seconds the display will show“-0.0-”. The meter is now zeroed and readyfor measurement. Remove the cuvette.8• Add the content of 1 packet of HI 93735C-0fixing reagent. Replace the cap and shakegently to mix 20 seconds.9• Replace the cuvette into the holder andensure that the notch on the cap is positionedsecurely into the groove.10•Press READ/ /UNIT. In all cases the lamp,cuvette and detector icons will appear on thedisplay, depending on the measurement phase.Measurement1. The measuring scheme (lamp, cuvette, detector), appears duringdifferent phases of zero or reading measurement2. Error messages and warnings3. The battery icon indicates the charge state of the battery4. The hourglass appears when an internal check is in progress5. Status messages6. The chronometer appears when the reaction timer is running7. The month, day and date icons appear when a date is displayed8. Four digit main display9. Measuring units10. Four digit secondary displayON ZERO READING:ON SAMPLE READING:DURING CALIBRATION PROCEDURE:OTHER ERRORS AND WARNINGS:Battery Low: The battery must be replacedsoon.Dead Battery: This indicates that the batteryis dead and must be replaced. Once thisindication is displayed, normal operation of theinstrument will be interrupted. Change thebattery and restart the meter.Cap Error: Appears when external light entersin the analysis cell.
