EnglishThere are two degaussing methods. Each timeyou turn on the monitor, it is automaticallydegaussed. You can also use the Degauss optionin the onscreen display (OSD) main window todegauss the display.See “Using the OSD Main Window” on page 9for instructions.Setting the Screen ResolutionThe screen resolution determines the amount ofinformation shown in the display. Screenresolution refers to the number of dots orpixelsused to make up an image. A low screenresolution means that the display uses arelatively small number of relatively large dots. Ahigher resolution means that more dots of asmaller size make up the image. With higherscreen resolutions, icons, windows, and text aresmaller on the screen, but more information canbe displayed.Use the Window’s Control Panel to set thescreen resolution. The monitor supports manycommon screen resolutions.Selecting Refresh RateTo minimise eyestrain and maximise theperformance of your display, use the highestpossible image refresh rate or vertical frequencyfor which you don’t perceive flicker (generally ator above 75 Hz for most users). The imagerefresh rate is the number of times per secondthat the image is refreshed. The “Pre-Set VideoModes” table shows the image refresh ratessupported by the monitors at different screenresolutions.Minimising Energy UseHP Pavilions support VESA Display PowerManagement Signalling (DPMS). Powermanagement features reduce the monitor’spower consumption after a period of keyboardinactivity.
