Becauseof this increased capacity, full-length movies, several albums of music, or several gigabytes ofdata can fit on a single disc. DVDs can be played on a DVD player or a DVD drive-equippedcomputer. For more information about playing DVDs, see “Playing music and movies” on page 34.Playing a Blu-ray DiscBlu-ray Disc is a high-capacity optical disc that can store much more data than a DVD. A dual-layerBlu-ray Disc can hold 50 GB of files, about 23 hours of standard-definition video, or about ninehours of high-definition video. Blu-ray Discs can be played on a Blu-ray-compatible player or aBlu-ray drive-equipped computer.
