Route FilesA route file can contain up to 20 routes, with each route havingup to 30 waypoints. Each route in the file begins with a routeheader followed by a list of waypoints. Each route includes thefollowing information:• Route header (with route number)• List of waypoints, up to 30Each waypoint listed includes the following information:• Waypoint identifier• Waypoint type• Degrees latitude to the nearest 1/1,000th of a minute• North or South hemisphere• Degrees longitude to the nearest 1/1,000th of a minute• East or West hemisphereThe route header contains the route number. When assigningroute numbers, use a number from 01 to 20. A route numberwill be automatically assigned by the Apollo GPS if none isentered.When creating or editing a route file, waypoints may be enteredby waypoint identifier and type only. If only the waypointidentifier and type is entered, the Apollo GPS will look up thelatitude and longitude in the internal data base when the routefile is sent to the unit.29Working with Data Files
