ChartView resembles the paper version of Jeppesen terminal procedures charts. TheChartView database is stored on an SD memory card that remains in the display during normal operation.The ChartView database is updated by removing the database card, updating the database on the card, andreinserting the card. ChartView data is updated by purchasing database subscription updates fromJeppesen Sanderson.TerrainThe terrain database contains the elevation data which represents the topography of the earth. Thisdatabase is updated on an irregular basis.BasemapThe basemap contains data for the topography and land features, such as rivers, lakes, and towns. It isupdated only periodically, with no set schedule. There is no expiration date.ObstacleThe obstacle basemap contains data for obstacles, such as towers, that pose a potential hazard to aircraft.Obstacles 200 feet and higher are included in the obstacle database. It is very important to note that not allobstacles are necessarily charted and therefore may not be contained in the obstacle database. Thisdatabase is updated on a 56-day cycle.SafeTaxiThe SafeTaxi database contains detailed airport diagrams for selected airports. These diagrams aid infollowing ground control instructions by accurately displaying the aircraft position on the map in relationto taxiways, ramps, runways, terminals, and services. This database is updated on a 56-day cycle, and hasno expiration date.FliteChartsThe FliteCharts database contains terminal procedure charts for the United States only. This database isupdated on a 28-day cycle.AOPA Airport DirectoryThe AOPA Airport Directory provides data on airports and heliports throughout the U.S. and offersdetailed information for over 5,300 U. S. airports, along with the names and phone numbers of thousandsof FBOs. Look up taxi services, plan an overnight, and choose fuel stops; plus find ground transportation,lodging, restaurants, local attractions, and more. This database is updated on a quarterly cycle, and has noexpiration date.
