This manual hasimportant information for the use and safe operationof the machine and should be kept available at alltimes. This machine will ensure years ofsatisfactory service if operated and maintainedaccording to recommendations in this manual. Ifadditional help or information is needed, pleasecontact your distributor or Prochem.Prochem carpet soil extraction machines have beendesigned with the operator in mind. Provided youread the instructions relating to the care of yourmachine and follow them carefully and takeadvantage of the helpful hints and advice that wehave passed on, you will achieve excellent cleaningresults and very quickly pay for your investment. Adetailed operational guide is given in the followingsections, however, the following important pointsmust be emphasised.FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESEINSTRUCTIONS MAY SERIOUSLYAFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OFTHE MACHINE AND INVALIDATETHE WARRANTY• Connection instructions - The 220 - 240V ACmodels have been fitted with the appropriateEC type sealed power cable and 3 prong 13amp plug for the UK market. Ensure themachine is connected to a 13 amp socketoutlet having the same configuration as theplug. No adapter should be used with thismachine. Any modification to the plug type maybe dangerous and will void the warranty.• This equipment is intended for commercial useonly.• The machine was designed for use on carpetand upholstery extraction applications as perinstructions and recommendations written inthis manual. Any deviation from its proper useor purpose and the consequential damage thatmay occur is the sole responsibility of the enduser.• Disconnect the power cord from outlet beforeservicing. Do not leave machine connected toan electrical outlet when unattended.• Do not immerse or use this machine instanding water. Such use may cause electricshock.• This equipment is not designed to handle oruse combustible/volatile substances such asgasoline or kerosene, in, on, or near themachine. The use of such materials will causean extreme hazardous condition.• Use defoamer at all times to prevent damage tothe vacuum motor(s).• Do not use water in excess of 170°F (76°C).• To prevent seal damage and chemical build-upto the pump system, run clean water throughthe solution lines after each days use.• All repairs must be carried out by an authorisedProchem distributor.• Repairs should only be carried out by aqualified person.• Do not use replacement parts other thangenuine manufacturers parts as specified in theparts list.• Do not use chemicals in the machine otherthan those supplied or approved by ProchemEurope limited.• Do not use the machine as a 'dry' vacuum.Always pre-vacuum carpets thoroughly with aseparate 'dry' vacuum cleaner.• Keep the solution tank and filter clean. Alwaysuse a clean bucket to fill the solution tank.• Clean the waste tank, vacuum filter and fall-outtube daily. Do not allow the vacuum shut-offfilter to clog and do not restrict the freemovement of the ball float (where fitted).Empty recovery tank regularly during use, donot wait for it to fill up and cut the vacuummotor out.• Clean the drain valve regularly. Lubricate thevalve shaft, slide and PVC elbow connectionwith suitable oil or maintenance spray. Do notdrain the waste tank completely until the end ofeach job, as this will tend to clog the seal withdebris and sediment.• After use, flush through the pump, solutionlines and waste tank with at least two gallons ofhot water.• Do not allow the machine, hoses or tools tofreeze. Freezing may seriously damage thepump and fittings. Always drain solution andstore indoors when not in use. When in transitduring freezing weather, insulate and covermachine, wand and hoses. To prevent hosecuffs splitting in cold conditions, immerse themin warm water before use. |
