10Care and cleaningIn this chapter you will find tips on how to maintain andclean your cooktop correctly.m Risk of burns!The appliance becomes hot during operation. Allow theappliance to cool down before cleaning.m Risk of electric shock!Do not use high pressure washers or steam cleaners toclean the appliance.CleaningClean the appliance after every use once it has cooleddown. Remove spills immediately. Burnt in residues maybe difficult to remove.Cleaning the gas cooktop:1 Take off the pan support with both hands.Caution!Be careful not to scratch the stainless steel base.2 Remove the burner lids. Only clean the burner partswhen cold!3 Soak burnt-in remainders in a little water anddetergent. This loosens even the most stubborn ofsoiling. Do not use any abrasive agents andabrasive sponges.4 Only use very little water to clean your cooktop. Becareful that no water enters the burner base.5 As the result of heat development, slightdiscoloration can appear on the stainless steelsurface. Do not attempt to scrape away suchdiscoloration. This damages the surface. Distributestainless steel care agent uniformly and thinly onthe cooktop (not on the control panel!). This willensure an even surface and will keep your cooktopin a good condition for a long period of time.6 Make sure the burner parts are dry beforeassembly. Only operate the appliance with all partsdry. Damp burner parts will cause malfunctionswhen igniting or unstable flames.7 When assembling the burner parts, make sure thatthe burner lids are placed in such a way that thecatching pins fit in the corresponding holes. Makesure all burner lids are properly fitted and lie evenlyflat.Burnt-on dirtFor hard-to-remove, burnt-on dirt, you can order a gelgrill cleaner from your specialist retailer or our after-sales service (item number 00311761). It is suitable forpan supports and the stainless-steel recess. Ifnecessary, let the dirt soak overnight. Follow theinstructions on the cleaning agent.Caution!Do not use the gel grill cleaner on the burner parts.Do not use these cleaning agents▯ Scouring or chemically aggressive cleaners▯ Acidic cleaners (e.g. vinegar, citric acid, etc)▯ Cleaners containing chlorine or with a high contentof alcohol▯ Oven cleaner▯ Hard and scratchy sponges, brushes or scouringpads▯ Thoroughly wash out new sponge cloths beforeusing them.Part/surface Recommended cleaning methodStainless steelsurfacesClean with a soft cloth and some soapywater; polish dry with a soft cloth.
