GE Multilin L60 Line Phase Comparison System 11-111 MAINTENANCE 11.1 MODULES1111 MAINTENANCE 11.1 MODULES 11.1.1 REPLACE A MODULEModule withdrawal and insertion may only be performed when control power has beenremoved from the unit. Inserting an incorrect module type into a slot may result in personalinjury, damage to the unit or connected equipment, or undesired operation!Proper electrostatic discharge protection (for example, a static strap) must be used when coming incontact with modules while the relay is energized! The relay, being modular in design, allows for the withdrawal and insertion of modules. Modules must only be replaced withlike modules in their original factory configured slots. The enhanced faceplate can be opened to the left, once the thumb screw has been removed, as shown below. This allowsfor easy accessibility of the modules for withdrawal. The new wide-angle hinge assembly in the enhanced front panel openscompletely and allows easy access to all modules in the L60.Figure 11–1: UR MODULE WITHDRAWAL AND INSERTION (ENHANCED FACEPLATE)The standard faceplate can be opened to the left, once the sliding latch on the right side has been pushed up, as shownbelow. This allows for easy accessibility of the modules for withdrawal.Figure 11–2: UR MODULE WITHDRAWAL AND INSERTION (STANDARD FACEPLATE)To properly remove a module, the ejector/inserter clips, located at the top and bottom of each module, must be pulledsimultaneously. Before performing this action, control power must be removed from the relay. Record the original loca-tion of the module to ensure that the same or replacement module is inserted into the correct slot. Modules with currentinput provide automatic shorting of external CT circuits.WARNINGNOTICE842812A1.CDR
