Boilover causes smoking and greasyspillovers that may ignite and spread if hood isused. Use surface unit heat settings recommendedby manufacturer and adequate-size utensils.When flaming foods are under the hood, turnthe fan off. The fan, if operating, may spread theflame.Never use your cooking appliance for warming,or heating the room. The electrical wiring of yourrange hood may not withstand the resultingexcessive heat.Keep hood and grease filters clean according toinstructions to maintain good venting and to avoidgrease fires.DO NOT USE WATER ON GREASE FIRES.NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN. Smotherflaming pan with well fitting lid, cookie sheet orflat tray, and, IF YOU CAN DO SO WITHOUTGETTING BURNED, immediately turn “OFF”the surface unit switch and hood. If there isdanger of being burned, wait until AFTER flamehas been reduced.Flaming grease outside pan can be extinguished bybaking soda, or, if available, a multi-purpose drychemical or foam type fire extinguisher.If you need service...l Do not attempt to repair or replace any partof your hood unless it is specificallyrecommended in this book. All other servicingshould be referred to a qualified technician.. Disconnect hood circuit breaker or fusebefore performing any service.Write down the model and serial numbers.You’ll find them on a label on the back wall of thehood. These numbers are also on the Consumer ProductOwnership Registration Card that came with yourhood. Before sending in this card, please write thesenumbers here:Model Number Serial NumberUse these numbers in any correspondence or servicecalls concerning your hood.GREASE FILTER Push out on this clipto remove filter.Your hood is equipped with a metal grease filter. Whenthe fan is operated, air is drawn through the filter anddischarged to the outside.CAUTION–before operating the hood:lllllRemove the Grease Filter. (See instructions on page 2.)Remove the wrappings from the filter.Install the lamp bulb (not provided). See LampReplacement instructions on page 2.Reinstall the Grease Filter.
