CARE AND CLEANINGProper care and cleaning are important so your cooktop will give youefficient and satisfactory service. Follow these directions carefully in caringfor it.Before cleaning any part of your cooktop, be sure all burners are off andDISCONNECT ELECTRIC POWER TO THE COOKTOP at the fusebox or circuit breaker panel, or pull the cooktop power plug, locatedbeneath the cooktop and inside the cabinets.Cooktop GlassTo keep the cooktop looking As soon as the cooktop is cool, wash the glass surfaceits best, wipe up any spills as with a cloth moistened with warm, soapy water; rinsethey occur. This will keep them with clean water, and dry with a soft cloth. You canfrom burning on and becoming use any liquid household detergent. Do not usemore difficult to remove. abrasive materials such as metal pads, cleansingIt’s a good idea to wipe thecontrol area clean after each use of the cooktop. For amore thorough cleaning, the knobs can be removed bypulling them off the knob stems.powder and soap-filled pads— they may scratch thesurface. DO not use harsh chemicals such as bleach orchemical oven cleaners.CAUTION: DO NOT COOK ON OR CLEANA BROKEN OR CRACKED COOKTOP.Cleaning solutions and spillovers penetrating thecooktop can create a risk of electric shock. Call forservice technician immediately.Control KnobsThe control knobs may be removed for cleaning.Bef’ore removing the knobs for cleaning, please notetha[ the knobs on the left side and the knobs on theri,gh[ side are in the proper OFF position. Whenreplacing the knobs, check the OFF position to insureproper placement.To remove knob, pull it straight off the stem. Ifknob is difficult to remove, place a thin cloth (like ahandkerchief) or a piece of string under and aroundthe knob edge and pull up.To replace knob, matchthe “D” shaft on the knob10 the “D” shaft on the stem.Inspect the core of the knobto insure that themetal insert is in &//place. Do not force~he knob.Wash knobs in soap and water but do not soak.1?
