Be sure electrical power is off and all surfaces are cool before cleaning any part of the cooktop.How to Remove Protective Shipping Film and Packaging TapeCarefully grasp a corner of the protectiveshipping film with your fingers and slowly peelit from the appliance surface Do not use anysharp items to remove the film Remove all of thefilm before using the appliance for the first timeTo assure no damage is done to the finish ofthe product, the safest way to remove theadhesive left from packaging tape on newappliances is an application of a householdliquid dishwashing detergent Apply with a softcloth and allow to soakNOTE: The adhesive must be removed fromall parts before using the cooktop. It cannot beremoved if it is baked on.Control KnobsThe control knobs may be removed for easiercleaning.Make sure the knobs are in the OFF positionsand pull them straight off the stems forcleaningThe knobs can be cleaned in a dishwasher orthey may also be washed with soap and waterMake sure the insides of the knobs are drybefore replacingReplace the knobs in the OFF position toensure proper placementPull the knob straight up off the stemPorcelain Enamel Surfaces (on some models)The porcelain enamel finish is sturdy butbreakable if misused This finish is acid-resistant However, any acidic foods or foodwith high sugar content spilled (such as fruitjuices, tomato or vinegar) should not bepermitted to remain on the finishIf acids spill on the cooktop while it is hot, usea dry paper towel or cloth to wipe it up rightaway. When the surface has cooled, wash withan all-purpose cleaner and water. Rinse well.For other spills such as fat spatterings, wash withsoap and water or an all-purpose cleaner afterthe surface has cooled Rinse well Polish with adry clothNOTE: For stainless steel cooktops refer to theStainless steel surface sectionCare and cleaning of the cooktop.8Stainless Steel Surfaces (on some models)Do not use a steel wool pad; it will scratch thesurface.IMPORTANT: APPLY A PROTECTIVE COATOF CERAMA BRYTE® PART # WB02T10111STAINLESS STEEL BRIGHTENER BEFORE USING.This will help you to maintain the brightnessand appearance of your stainless steel range■ In order to avoid any discolorations and/orgrease stains, we recommend cleaning andremoving any spills, spots and grease fromthe range after use■ It is important to use a soft cloth or papertowel every time the range is cleaned toavoid any scratchesRead carefully the instructions on the back ofthe Brightener for better resultsCleaning Instructions:1. Remove grates2. Wash using warm, soapy water:Wet soft cloth or paper towel (avoid usingexcessive water)Wipe the surface in the direction of the grain(following the steel lines)Rinse and wring out a soft cloth or papertowel and dry the range3. Apply a degreaser that does not containsodium hydroxide or stainless steel cleaner(follow instructions)4. Apply Cerama Bryte® Stainless SteelBrightener (follow instructions)5. Repeat steps 2–4 as many times as needed6.
