If youare getting rid of an old refrigeration product, check with thecompany handling the disposal about what to do.PROPER DISPOSAL OF YOUR OLD REFRIGERATORIMPORTANT:SAFETY (CONT.)WARNING Scalding Hazard.The hot water dispenser is capable of heating water to a temperature of approximately 185°F (85°C).Water temperatures above 125°F (52°C) can cause severe burns or death from scalding. Children, thedisabled, and the elderly are at highest risk of being scalded. The water coming from the dispenser is very hot. Useextreme caution when dispensing and drinking water. Allowwater to cool to a drinkable temperature before drinking. When dispensing water below 125ÛF, always test thetemperature of the water before drinking. When dispensing hot water, the container can becomevery hot. Use a temperature insulating container, suchas ceramic or Styrofoam. Using container materials suchas paper or plastic may result in a burn while holding thecup. Do not use glass containers, as thermal shock cancause the container to break and may result in scalding orlacerations. Do not permit children to use the hot water dispenser. The hot water dispensing knob requires both twist andpush motions in order to reduce the risk of hot water beingdispensed unintentionally or by small children. Do nottamper with or modify the hot water dispensing knob. Always follow the formula manufacturer’s instructions forpreparation of baby formula. Hold your cup or container close to the dispensing point tominimize splashing of hot water that could contact yourhand. Do not dispense hot water into a cup resting on thedispenser tray, as this will increase water splash. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or ofunknown quality. The hot water dispenser is designed to only dispense water.Do not attempt to heat or dispense anything other thanwater. Do not attempt to disassemble or clean the tank. A newly installed water filter cartridge will cause water tospurt from the dispenser. Run 2 gallons of water throughthe cold water dispenser (about 5 minutes) to remove airfrom the system. Until this air is removed from the systemthrough the cold water dispenser, DO NOT use the hot waterdispenser as it may result in spurting of hot water and leadto hot water scalding. The hot water dispensing tank is a non-pressurized tank,with a vent on the tank and a dispenser tube outlet. Donot modify the system, close or block the dispense tube, orconnect any other type of device to the tank or dispensetube. Doing so may lead to rupture of the tank and hotwater scalding.Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this Owner’s Manual.
