Using the probe, consomemode sIFor many foods, especially roasts and poultry, internal food temperature is the best test for doneness. The temperatureprobe takes the guesswork out of roasting by cooking foods to the exact aloneness you want.The temperature probe has askewer-like probe at one end anda plug at the other end that goesinto the outlet in the oven.ill !i!i : il;:i¸¸¸t:[A CAUTION HugToprevent burns, do not unplug the probe fromthe oven outlet until the oven hascooled.Use of probes other than the one provided withthis product may result in damage to the probeor oven control.Use the handles of the probe and plug wheninserting and removing them from the food andoutlet.i To avoid damaging your probe, do not usetongs to pull on the cable when removing it.To avoid breaking the probe, make sure foodis completely defrosted before inserting.After preparing the meat and placing it ona trivet or a broiler pan grid, follow thesedirections for proper probe placement.Insert the probe completely into the meet. Itshould not touch bone, fat or gristle.NOTE:Failure to fully insert the probe into themeat may result in poor cooking performancebecause the probe will sense the oven air vs.thefood temperature.• .... For bone-in hamor lamb, insert the probe into the center of thelowest large muscle.Insert the probe into the center of dishes suchas meat loaf or casseroles.Insert the probe into the meatiest part of theinner thigh from below and parallel to the leg ofa whole turkey.NOTE:Self-clean and Broil settings will not workif the temperature probe is plugged in.18DDD[]DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDHow to Set the Oven For Baking/Roasting When Using the Probe(onsome models)%[]Insert the probe fully into the food.Plugthe probe into the outlet in the oven.Hake sure it's pushed all the way in.Closethe oven door. Hake sure the probe cableis not touching the broil element.r-_ Touch the PROBEpad. Displaywill show"Set Probe,"[-_ Touch the number pads to set the desiredinternal food or meat temperature. Themaximum internal temperature for thefood that you can set is 200°F.[]_] Touch the BAKE pad.[] Touch the number pads to set the desiredoven temperature.[Z] Touch the STARTpad.The display will flash if the probe is insertedinto the outlet and you have not set a probetemperature and touched the ,STARTpad.After the internal temperature of the foodreaches 100°F,the changing internaltemperature will be shown in the display.[] When the internal temperature of the foodreaches the number you have set,theprobe and the oven turn off and the ovencontrol signals.To stop the signal, touchthe CLEAR/OFFpad.Use hot pads toremove the probe from the food. Do notuse tongs to pull on it-they mightdamage it.If the probe is removed from the ovenwhile probe cooking, the oven will notautomatically turn off.To change the oven temperature during theBake/Roast cycle, touch the BAKEpad and thenthe number pads to set the new temperature.You can use the Kitchen Timer even thoughyou cannot use timed oven operations whileusing the probe. |
