If you do not want to drill holes in your door frame,you can use the supplied double sided tape forinstallation.1. Clean all mounting surfaces with a 50/50 mixtureof isopropyl alcohol.2. Remove the backing from one side of the doublesided tape and press the exposed side against theback plate of the push button.3. Remove the other backing strip and press theexposed side against the door frame where youwant the button installed.Operation1. Turn on the chime.2. Gently press transmitter button to sound chime.TroubleshootingChime doesn’t work:1. Make sure push button switch is depressed andheld for at least 1 second.2. Make sure house code switches 1-4 on chime andpush button match exactly.3. Verify battery orientation in push button.4. Try fresh batteries.5. Make sure chime is not farther than 150 feet awayfrom push button.6. Ensure push button is not mounted on metal, nearmetal studs, or near the floor.7. Remove back cover.2. Install the (included) Two CR2032batteries in the clear plastic batteryholder located inside the push button.3. Be sure the positive (‘+’) side of each battery isfacing upwards.4. Slide each battery under the metal clip and gentlypush down to secure each battery.5. To remove the batteries gently pull back on theplastic battery clip until the top battery pops - up.6. Be sure to change both batteries when replacingbatteries.Chime Tune SettingAll wireless chimes may have more than one pushbutton. The chime tune for each push button is setwith dip switches 1-3.Single Push Button Kit: If you purchased a kit witha single push button, the chime tune will be set toDing Dong from the factory.Dual Push Button Kit: If you purchased a kit withtwo push buttons, one push button will be set toDing Dong and the other push button will be set toWestminster from the factory.The following instructions explain how to change thetune on any wireless push button.1. Remove the cover from the pushbutton.2. Remove the battery from the push buttontransmitter.3. Locate the 3 dip switches shown below.4. In most cases you will not needto change the factory settings for the house securitycode. If your chime activates intermittently or doesnot work at all, you may be able to solve the problemby changing your security code.1. Remove power or batteries from the chime.2. To remove the batteries from the pushbutton, openthe pushbutton case as shown below.3. Locate the House Security Code door and screwlocated on the back of the chime. Remove thescrew and take off the door.4. Locate the chime and pushbutton jumpers shownbelow.Chime and Pushbutton Jumpers5. To change the house code, add or remove jumpersas needed. It is recommended to change onlyone jumper at a time and then test the system forproper operation. The jumpers on the chime andpushbutton must match exactly.If you have an older chime with 6 jumper positions,remove jumpers from the 5th and 6th positions in thechime and match the jumpers exactly on positions 1 to4 on the chime and pushbutton. See the picture belowOlder Chime with New PushbuttonPush Button Mounting InstructionsNote: Avoid mounting on metal surfaces, as it mayresult in a reduced range of transmission. Do notmount in an area where exposed to direct rain.a. Removing the back coverb. Replacing the back cover1. Push buttons are typically mounted at the sameheight as the door knob or handle (between 36” and44” above the floor).2. Before mounting, choose a mounting location thatis not farther than 150 feet from the chime unitlocation.Not farther than 150 feetPlace push button where you would like to mountand test operation with the chime as close to it’s finallocation as possible. If it works, mount button here. Ifit does not work, see TROUBLESHOOTING.3. Use back cover of push button as a template tomark two screw holes.4. Drill two holes with 1/16” drill in markedlocations.5. Secure back cover to the mounting surface with the3x20mm screws.6. Press front housing onto back cover.7. Test Operations, if chime does not work, seeTROUBLESHOOTING.House Code Jumpers Chime Dip SwitchesPositions 5 and 6 open. Position1 to 4 match exactly. |
