Extra Handset and Recharge Cradlewith Call-Waiting Caller ID for Use withModels 21025 and 21095User’s GuideEQUIPMENT APPROVAL I NFORMATIONYour telephone equipment is approved for connection to the PublicSwitched Telephone Network and is in compliance with parts 15 and68, FCC Rules and Regulations and the Technical Requirements forTelephone Terminal Equipment published by ACTA.1 Notification to the Local Telephone CompanyOn the bottom of this equipment is a label indicating, amongother information, the US number and Ringer EquivalenceNumber (REN) for the equipment. You must, upon request,provide this information to your telephone company.The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you mayconnect to your telephone line and still have all of these devicesring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all)areas, the sum of the RENs of all devices connected to one lineshould not exceed 5. To be certain of the number of devices youmay connect to your line as determined by the REN, you shouldcontact your local telephone company.A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premiseswiring and telephone network must comply with the applicableFCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. In case of suchtemporary discontinuance, the telephone company must: (1)promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance; (2) affordyou the opportunity to correct the situation; and (3) inform you ofyour right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant toprocedures set forth in Subpart E of Part 68, FCC Rules andRegulations.The telephone company may make changes in itscommunications facilities, equipment, operations or procedureswhere such action is required in the operation of its business andnot inconsistent with FCC Rules and Regulations. If these changesare expected to affect the use or performance of your telephoneequipment, the telephone company must give you adequatenotice, in writing, to allow you to maintain uninterrupted service.FCC RF EXPOSURE REQUIREMENTSFor body worn operation, this phone has been tested and meets theFCC RF exposure guidelines when used with the belt clip suppliedwith this product. Use of other accessories may not ensurecompliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines.INTERFERENCE I NFORMATIONThis device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation issubject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may notcause harmful interference; and (2) This device must accept anyinterference received, including interference that may causeundesired operation.This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limitsfor a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection againstharmful interference in a residential installation.This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequencyenergy and, if not installed and used in accordance with theinstructions, may cause harmful interference to radiocommunications. Wait until the handset chargesproperly, then register the handset to the base before use.PROGRAMMING THE TELEPHONEHANDSET REGISTRATIONCAUTION: Make sure the extra handset is registeredbefore use.NOTE: This extra handset is only available for 21025 and21095 series.During the registration process, keep your handset near the base.When your handset shows the following:1. Press the mute /program button untilREGISTRATION 1YES 2NOshows in the display. The default setting isNO.2. Press the cid/vol ( or ) button to scroll to1YES or2NO, or usethe touch tone pad on your handset to enter your selection.3. Press the mute/program button andHOLD BASE PAGE WAIT FORBEEP shows in the display.4. Press and hold the page/int button on the base of Model 21095 orthe page button on the base of Model 21025 until you hear a longbeep and the handset displaysHANDSET # REGISTEREDdisplays, and you will hear a confirmation tone.If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio ortelevision reception, which can be determined by turning theequipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct theinterference by one or more of the following measures:• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna (that is, the antennafor radio or television that is “receiving” the interference).• Reorient or relocate and increase the separation between thetelecommunications equipment and receiving antenna.• Connect the telecommunications equipment into an outlet on acircuit different from that to which the receiving antenna isconnected.If these measures do not eliminate the interference, please consultyour dealer or an experienced radio/television technician foradditional suggestions. Use the touch-tone keypad to enter the name (up to 15 characters).More than one letter is stored in each of the number keys. Briefly pause and the cursor movesto the next field. Press the 5 key 3 times for the second letter L.Briefly pause and the cursor moves to the next field. To minimize or prevent such interference, thebase of the cordless telephone should not be placed near or on topof a TV, microwave ovens, or VCR. Plug the charge cradle power supply into an electrical outlet.2. Place the handset in charge cradle. The charge indicators turn onto indicate the batteries are charging.I NSTALLING THE H ANDSET B ATTERYNOTE: You must connect the handset battery before use.1. Push down on the top of the battery compartment cover (locatedon the back of each handset) and remove the cover.2.
