You have fullresponsibility and assume all risksrelated to the use of the Uconnectfeatures and applications in this ve-hicle. Only use Uconnect when it issafe to do so. Failure to do so mayresult in an accident involving seri-ous injury or death.Ensure that all persons read this manual care-fully before using the system. It contains instruc-tions on how to use the system in a safe andeffective manner.Do NOT attach any object to the touch-screen, doing so can result in damage to thetouchscreen.Please read and follow these safety precau-tions. Failure to do so may result in injury orproperty damage.• Glance at screen only when safe to do so. Ifprolonged viewing of the screen is required,park in a safe location and set the parkingbrake.• Stop use immediately if a problem occurs.Failure to do so may cause injury or damageto the product. Return it to an authorizeddealer to repair.• Ensure the volume level of the system is setto a level that still allows you to hear outsidetraffic and emergency vehicles.Safe Usage Of The Uconnect System• Read all instructions in this manual carefullybefore using your system to ensure properusage!• Your system is a sophisticated electronicdevice. Do not let young children use yoursystem.• Permanent hearing loss may occur if you playyour music or the system at loud volumes.Exercise caution when setting the volume onyour system.• Keep drinks, rain and other sources of mois-ture away from your system. Besides dam-age to your system, moisture can causeelectric shocks as with any electronic device.NOTE: Many features of this system are speeddependent. For your own safety, it is not pos-sible to use some of the touchscreen featureswhile the vehicle is in motion.Exposure To Radio Frequency RadiationThe internal wireless radio operates within guide-lines found in radio frequency safety standards andrecommendations, which reflect the consensus ofthe scientific community. The radio manufacturerbelieves the internal wireless radio is safe for useby consumers. The level of energy emitted is farless than the electromagnetic energy emitted bywireless devices such as mobile phones. However,the use of wireless radios may be restricted in somesituations or environments, such as aboard air-planes. If you are unsure of restrictions, you areencouraged to ask for authorization before turningon the wireless radio.Care And MaintenanceTouchscreen• Do not press the touchscreen with any hardor sharp objects (pen, USB stick, jewelry,etc.) which could scratch the touchscreensurface!• Do not spray any liquid or caustic chemicalsdirectly on the screen! Use a clean and drymicro fiber lens cleaning cloth in order toclean the touchscreen.• If necessary, use a lint-free cloth dampenedwith a cleaning solution, such as isopropylalcohol or an isopropyl alcohol and watersolution ratio of 50:50. Be sure to follow thesolvent manufacturer’s precautions anddirections.4 |
