Pulsense ™ PS-100Quick StartRead these instructions before using your product.Charge your productBefore using your product for the first time, make sure thebattery is fully charged. Charging takes approximately 1.5 to2.5 hours. A full charge lasts about 36 hours.Caution: Do not attach the charging cradle when the PS-100 iswet. If the PS-100 is wet, wipe it with a damp cloth, remove themoisture with a towel, then let it air dry before attaching thecharging cradle.1. Center the PS-100 under the large tab, then press downuntil it clicks into place.2. Insert the USB plug into a power source. You can use:■ Computer (USB is for charging only, not for datatransfer)■ Optional USB AC Adapter (part number SFAC04)The orange LED lights up when your PS-100 is connectedcorrectly. Charging is complete when the blue LED is lit.To remove your PS-100 from the charging cradle, press thesmall tab down and push the PS-100 out from the back.Install Epson PULSENSEViewDownload Epson PULSENSE View from your mobiledevice’s app store.The following mobile devices are supported:■ iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, or iPhone 5s with iOS7.1 or later■ Mobile device running Android TM 4.3 or later withBluetooth ® SmartLaunch the app and pair yourPS-100You must pair your PS-100 through the Epson PULSENSEView app. The PS-100 will not store any data until you’vepaired it with the app.Follow these steps:1. Start the Epson PULSENSE View app.2. Make sure that the PS-100 is within 3 feet (1 meter) of themobile device.3. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your PS-100with your mobile device and perform the initialconfiguration.The PS-100 can store up to 480 hours of data before needingto be synced.LED statusThe LEDs on the PS-100 light up or flash to indicate differentstates. When exercising, the LEDs indicate which zone you’recurrently in. The PS-100 vibrates when entering or leaving azone.Wearing your PS-100Follow these steps to adjust the wristband:1. Unfasten the buckle of the wristband.2. Unhook the band and adjust it to fit your wrist.Keep these tips in mind when wearing your PS-100:■ The Pulsense band needs to be worn snugly around thewrist to collect more accurate heart rate data. This maycause a slight impression on the wrist. Adjust the band forthe comfort and performance you choose.■ When wearing the PS-100, make sure it does not touchthe ulna bone.■ For greater accuracy, wear the Pulsense band on yournon-dominant wrist.■ Before boarding an aircraft, put your PS-100 in airplanemode by repeatedly tapping the top of the band.Calibrating your heart rateTo personalize your heart rate zones and calibrate the sleepmonitoring feature, wear your PS-100 for 2 to 7 days whileyou sleep. The accuracy of your heart rate zone and sleep datawill improve after the PS-100 has calibrated your resting heartrate.Using PULSENSE ViewYou can view live and collected data, such as hearcalories, and sleep, from your PS-100 using the PView mobile app.Troubleshooting■ The PS-100 vibrates when entering or leavingturn off vibration, go to > Device SettingVibration in the PULSENSE View app. See thelp for more information about vibration.■ If you are missing data, note that data collectepairing with the app cannot be viewed.■ If you are having trouble pairing, make sure ypairing from the PULSENSE View app, not fsystem’s Bluetooth settings.Where to get helpInternet supportVisit epson.com/support/ps100 (U.S.) orepson.ca/support/ps100 (Canada) for solutions tproblems. It is impkeep the band clean and dry at all times by wipwith a damp cloth, removing the moisture withletting it air dry.■ Stop using the PS-100 immediately if you havereaction to the band. Please consult your doctodevelop a rash or skin irritation.■ Remove the band from the wrist when rechargbattery.■ Do not use or store this product in the followingenvironments: locations with very high or low teor humidity, near volatile substances, dusty plastrong magnetic fields (for example, near a louDoing so may cause electric shock, fire, or themalfunction or be damaged.■ Do not disassemble this product, and do not atrepair it by yourself. It may cause an electric shaccident.■ Do not leave this product within reach of youngCaution:■ Although the PS-100 is water-resistant, do notdirectly onto this product or submerge it in watecompromise the water-resistant feature and caproduct to fail.Blue OrangeApp icon MeaningNo network connection.
