CACACACACAUTIONUTIONUTIONUTIONUTIONThe health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off during theself-clean cycle of any wall oven. Move birds to another well ventilated room.DO NOT use commercial oven cleaners or oven protective coatings in or around any partof the self-cleaning oven. DO NOT clean the oven door gasket. The gasket on the ovendoor is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damage or move thegasket. DO NOT use any cleaning materials on the gasket. Doing so could damage it. DONOT use aluminum foil to line the oven bottom. This may affect cooking or foil could meltand damage the oven surface.A self-cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures (well above cookingtemperatures) which eliminate soil completely or reduce it to a fine powdered ash you canwhisk away with damp cloth.Preparing the Oven for Self-Cleaning1. Remove any excess spillovers in the oven cavity before starting the self-cleaningcycle. To clean, use hot soapy water and a cloth. Large spillovers can cause smoke or afire when subjected to high temperatures. DO NOT allow food spills with a high sugar oracid content (such as tomatoes, sauerkraut, fruit juices or pie filling) to remain on thesurface as they may leave a dull spot even after cleaning.2. Clean any soil from the oven frame and the door liner (see illustration). These areasheat sufficiently during a self-clean to burn soil on. Clean with hot soapy water.3. Remove all utensils and any foil. These items cannot withstand high cleaningtemperatures.4. Oven racks and oven rack supports must be removed. If they are not removed theself-cleaning cycle cannot start and the “ Racks” Indicator Light will begin to flashindicating that you must remove the racks and rack gliders with the supports beforestarting the clean cycle. When the cycle has finished and the door can be opened,replace the oven the oven rack supports and oven racks.
