5ENGLISH3. BEFORE FIRST USE3.1 Selecting a LocationImportant1. Dehumidifier must be operated in anenclosed area to be most effective.Close all doors, windows, and otheroutside openings to the room. Theeffectiveness of the dehumidifierdepends on the rate at which newmoisture-laden air enters the room.2. Place dehumidifier in a location thatdoes not restrict airflow through thefront of the unit.3. A dehumidifier operating in a base-ment will have little or no effect indrying an adjacent enclosed storagearea, such as a closet, unless thereis adequate circulation of air in andout of the area. lt may be necessaryto install a second dehumidifier in theenclosed area for satisfactory drying.4. The dehumidifier must be installed ona level floor that will support it with afull bucket of water.5. There should be a minimum of12 inches clearance around thedehumidifier.3.2 How It WorksWhen the unit is started, the fan beginsto pull moisture-laden air across thedehumidifying coils. The coils condenseor draw moisture from the air, and airflows into the room as dry, warm air.Moisture removed from air is collected ina bucket on the front of the dehumidifier. The unit is designed to operate between5°C (41°F) and 35°C (96°F). The unit willnot work properly if the temperature isout of this temperature range, or the per-formance of the unit will fall greatly. The“Compressor” circuit has an automatic3 minute time delayed start if the unit isturned off and on quickly. This preventsoverheating of the compressor and pos-sible circuit breaker tripping. Make surethe tank is fitted correctly otherwise unitwill not turn on.CAUTION!Avoid Injury or damage to the unitor other property• Do not direct airflow at fireplaces orother heat related sources as thiscould cause flare ups.• Do not climb on or place objects onthe unit.• Do not hang objects off the unit.• Do not place containers with liquids onthe unit.• Turn off the dehumidifier at the powersource when it will not be used for anextended period of time.• Operate the unit with air filter in place.• Do not block or cover the intake grille, discharge area and outlet ports.• Ensure that any electrical/electronicequipment is one yard away from theunit.• Do not use or store flammable gasesnear the unit.4. OPERATING INSTRUCTION4.1 Connect the Unit to PowerAllow the unit to reach room temperaturebefore operating.Unit must be upright for one hour prior tooperating. To begin operating the dehumidifier, follow these steps:1. Plug the power cord into a properlygrounded 220-240V AC outlet.2. If the BUCKET FULL light is on,remove the bucket and re-install toreset the float switch.
