Datalogic Skorpio™ Single Cradle EthernetNOTERead this manual carefully before performing any type ofconnection from the terminal to a host PC using theDatalogic Skorpio™ Single Cradle Ethernet.The user is responsible for any damages caused byincorrect use of the equipment or by inobservance of theindication supplied in this manual.NOTEDo not attempt to disassemble the Datalogic Skorpio™Single Cradle Ethernet, as it does not contain parts thatcan be repaired by the user. Any tampering will invalidatethe warranty.The Datalogic Skorpio™ Single Cradle Ethernet paired with a DatalogicSkorpio™ mobile computer builds a reading system for the collection,decoding and transmission of barcoded data.The Datalogic Skorpio™ Single Cradle Ethernet is both a USB and anEthernet communication adapter between the host computer and theDatalogic Skorpio™ mobile computer.The Datalogic Skorpio™ Single Cradle Ethernet also functions as abattery charger, both for the mobile computer and the spare battery pack.The spare battery can be charged by inserting it into the slot at the backof the cradle.Power supply is required for Datalogic Skorpio™ mobile computer to beconnected to the cradle and for battery recharging operations.Figure 1 – Datalogic Skorpio™ Single Cradle Ethernet General ViewKey:A) Contacts for Datalogic Skorpio™ Mobile computerB) Communication status LEDC) Battery charge status LEDD) Ethernet port with integrated Link and Speed LEDsE) USB connectorF) Power supply connectorG) Spare battery slotH) Switch Ethernet/USB822000860Correct Mobile Computer Insertion/ RemovalFor correct insertion into the cradle, insert the mobile computer from thetop of the cradle and push it down until the clip of the cradle clicks. If youare using a Datalogic Skorpio™ model, release the backstrap from thebottom side before inserting it into the cradle.Figure 2 - Mobile Computer InsertionTo remove the mobile computer from the cradle, simply pull it upwardswhile holding the cradle firmly down.CONNECTIONSNOTEEthernet communication requires Datalogic Skorpio™ SWversion 5.41 1 or later. Verify the software version bytapping on Software – Version in the Datalogic defaulthome page. Otherwise, search for the file version.htmunder the Windows folder.CAUTIONConnections should always be made with power OFF!NOTEDuring switch operation from Ethernet position to USBposition and vice versa the mobile computer must not beinserted in the cradle.Each connection requires a power supply to be connected to thecradle.
