User Guide | Plate Type Heat Exchangers, Single plate & Semi-welded - Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance16 | BC172686461130en-000201 © Danfoss | DCS (ms) | 2019.07Maintenance(Continued)Closing the plate heat exchangerWhen assembling and closing the heatexchanger observe the following:• Check that all gaskets are correctly positionedin the grooves• Check that plates/cassettes are hangingcorrectly on the carrying bar• Press the plate package together by pushingthe follower• Make sure the plates are in the correct positionaccording to the marked diagonal ornumbering• Check the plate/cassette edge pattern foruniformity (see fig. 13)• Identify the A-measure noted prior to openingthe heat exchanger (confirm with nameplate)• Use appropriate tools and lubricant• Ensure there is no flow to any part of the unit• Clean the tie bolts and grease the threads• Install the long tie bolts and tighten evenlyin the numbered order 1, 2, 3, 4 (fig. 14) until aresistance can be noticed. i.e. the follower shallhave a parallel closing motion• Tighten the long tie bolts in sequence 1 to 4alternately until the A-measure has beenreached at all long tie bolts• Tighten the short tie bolts in an alternatingorder until the A-measure has been reached atall tie bolts• Prepare for operation.
