9Installation InstructionsComplete InstallationTurn the water supply line valve to the open position.1.Wait a few minutes. Check the water line connections for2.leaks.Remove all boxes, parts packages and packing materials3.from the interior of the refrigerator.See the4. Care and Cleaning section in the use and caremanual for instructions. Remove the film and cardboard fromthe grille and doors or door frame, depending on your model.Install the shelves and bins in the refrigerator and freezer5.compartments.The controls are preset at the factory to the midpoint setting.6.Check that the compressor is operating properly and that allthe lights are working.IMPORTANT: Flush the water system before use. See WaterSystem Preparation.To get the most efficient use from your new refrigerator, read youruse and care manual. Keep these installation instructions and theuse and care manual near the refrigerator for easy reference.Water System PreparationPlease read before using the water system.Immediately after installation, follow the steps below to make surethat the water system is properly cleaned.Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or ofunknown quality without adequate disinfection before or afterthe system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used ondisinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts.Press the water touch pad on the1.control panel. Use a sturdy containerto depress and hold the dispenserlever for 5 seconds, then release it for5 seconds. Repeat until water beginsto flow. Once water begins to flow,continue depressing and releasing the dispenser lever(5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) for an additional 5 minutes.This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing system.Additional flushing may be required in some households. Asair is cleared from the system, water may spurt out of thedispenser.NOTE: After 5 minutes of continuous dispensing, thedispenser will stop dispensing water to avoid flooding. Tocontinue dispensing, remove the container and press thedispensing lever again.NOTICE: Flush four (4) gallons of water through the waterfilter cartridge before use.Allow 24 hours for the refrigerator to cool down and chill2.water. Dispense enough water every week to maintain a freshsupply.NOTE: Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discardthe first three batches of ice produced. Allow 3 days to completelyfill the ice container.LevelingRemove the base grille. Grasp the grille firmly an pull it1.toward you.Using a 1/4” hex driver, turn the leveling screw on each side2.to raise or lower that side of the refrigerator.NOTE: Having someonepush against the top of therefrigerator takes someweight off the levelingscrews. Doing so makes iteasier to turn the screws.To raise, turn the•leveling screwclockwise.To lower, turn the•leveling screw counter-clockwise.Open the door again to make sure that it closes as easily as3.you like. If not, tilt the refrigerator slightly more to the rearby turning both adjustments screws clockwise. It may takeseveral more turns, and you should turn both adjustmentscrews the same amount.Replace the base grill.4.Handle InstallationSome units do not come with the handle installed to allow•the customer to choose the handle style. Optional handle kitsare also available.
