11Installing the Anti-Tip Bracket on the Wall1. Determine the suitability of wall mounting the anti-tipbracket. To use the wall mount option, the range frontpanel must not be more than 27 3/8” (69.5 cm) fromthe wall and the bracket screws must be able to threadinto the base plate inside the wall behind. The notcheson the sides of the bracket indicate the minimumrequired height of the base plate inside the wall andthat any floor covering is not too thick for proper screwthread engagement. To determine if the base plate is high enough:a. Determine the location of the range center lineand front panel when the range is in its finalposition based on the Product Dimensionson page 4 and the actual cabinet/cutoutdimensions used for the installation.b. Determine and mark the required position of theanti-tip bracket, based on the diagram above.Push the bracket up against the wall in themounting location.c. Using a pencil, make a dot next to the notcheson both sides of the bracket. Determine if thebase plate is as high at the notches by drillingtest holes into the wall at both dots with a 1/16”drill bit. Drill just deep enough to see if thebit contacts the base plate. If the bit contactsthe base plate the location will support wallinstallation of the anti-tip bracket. If you do notcontact the base plate, or you contact metal studmounting materials, the wall mounting methodmay not be used and the floor mounting methodmust be suitable, or the wall must be modified sothat the base plate is above the notches.4. To install the bracket, place it against the wall in themounting location shown in the diagram, upper right.Using a drill with 1/8” diameter drill bit, drill four (4) 15/8” deep pilot holes perpendicular to the screw seatingsurfaces shown, above right. Attach the bracket to thewall as shown with the four (4) included #12 x 1 3/4screws.Installation InstructionsCLCLBack wallBracketcenter lineRangecenter line#12 x 1 3/4”screw,4 placesTop hole, indicatesbracket center lineRangefront panel 11 1/2” (29.2 cm)Anti-Tip Bracket - Wall Installation - Top ViewCabinetface belowcountertop26 1/8”(66.4 cm)to27 3/8”(69.5 cm)Backguard Kit InstallationSee page 4 for available part numbers andcompatibility. If installing a backguard other than the standard size, install it before pushing the range into place.
