2Important Safety InstructionsGeneral Safety PrecautionsTo reduce the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock, serious injury or death when installing or using this appliance, follow basic safetyprecautions, including the following:• Read all instructions before using the appliance.• Keep packaging materials away from children. Plasticsheets and bags can cause suffocation.• If you receive a damaged product, immediately contactyour dealer or builder. Do not install or use a damagedappliance. Do not install or use the appliance if the conduitis damaged.• Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, serviceor maintenance can cause personal injury or propertydamage. Refer to these instructions and the accompanyinguse and care manual. For assistance or additionalinformation, consult a qualified installer, service agency ordealer.• This appliance must be properly installed and grounded bya qualified installer or service agency according to theseinstallation instructions prior to use. The installer mustshow the customer the location of the circuit breaker panelor fuse box so that they know where and how to turn offelectric power to the appliance. Dacor is not responsible forservice required to correct a faulty installation. The owneris responsible to make sure this appliance is properlyinstalled.• This appliance must not be used in combination withsurface (countertop) ventilation systems. The use of anoverhead hood, or Dacor raised vent is recommended forventilation.• Disconnect the electrical supply before installing orservicing the appliance.• Install or locate this appliance only in accordance withthese installation instructions.• This appliance must be grounded. Connect only to aproperly grounded electrical supply. Refer to ElectricalwARNINg wARNINgRequirements.• Before performing any type of service or installation, makesure that the electric power to the appliance is turned off atthe circuit breaker or fuse box.• Use this appliance only for its intended use as describedin this manual. Do not use corrosive chemicals or vaporsin this appliance. This type of appliance is not designed forindustrial or laboratory use.• As with any appliance, close supervision is necessary whenused by children.• Do not operate this appliance if it has a damaged electricalwires, if it is not working properly or if it has been damagedor dropped.• This appliance should be serviced only by qualified servicepersonnel.
