It is either Straight-Through cable or Cross-Over cable. Always check your installationinstructions to make sure that you have selected the correct type of Category 5cable. For the DWL-810, you will use Straight-Through cable to connect to thecomputer during configuration and to connect to a network device for wirelesssharing. Use a Cross-Over cable to connect to a switch.Ethernet Port – an RJ-45 jackprovides connection to a networkdevice using a Cat 5 Ethernetcable. (Use Straight-ThroughCAT5 cable when connecting toanother Ethernet adapter, like theport in a gaming device; use aCross-Over CAT5 cable whenconnecting to a switch.)
