51DVC-000 User’s ManualD-Link Systems, Inc.Port ConfigurationOpening Ports on Routers and GatewaysThe firewall security features built into most routers and gateways may prevent usersfrom accessing the video and audio of their DVC-2000.A router connects to the Internet through a series of numbered ports. The ports used bythe DVC-2000 are often blocked from access over the Internet by the firewall featuresof the router. You may be able to connect to another VideoPhone, but not receive any video or audio. This is a typical scenario of a firewall blocking the ports needed by the DVC-2000 tosend audio and video. If this is the case, you need to open the ports on your router to the Internet to allowaccess to the DVC-2000.The port numbers used by the DVC-2000 are:1720153281532915330153311533215333The router or gateway that you are using may be different from the D-LinkWBR-2310 wireless router example shown on the following pages.
