-28-Appendix A: Resetting the System Password or theIP AddressWhen you forget the system password or the IP address of the DI-704P, you willneed to reset them.Use a null modem cable (an RS-232 cable) to connect your computer and theDI-704P using the serial ports of both machines (the com port on the DI-704P is aserial port.)After you have made the connection, launch a terminal program, such as theHyper Terminal of MS Windows 95. The connection parameters should be setto 19200 8-N-1. Reboot the DI-704P. When the M1 indicator starts flashingregularly, you can press the “Enter” key of the keyboard several times, thereshould be some messages and a console prompt ">" will appear.You may reset the IP address and the system password of the DI-704P.
