The DWL-2000AP and other802.11g standard devices can be gradually added to yournetwork, while the rest of your older network remains perfectlyconnected.Wi-Fi Protected Access802.1x AuthenticationPre-Shared KeyEmbedded DHCP ServerEnhanced security is provided with Wi-Fi Protected Access toauthorize and identify users based on a secret key that changesautomatically at a regular interval. Used in conjunction with aRADIUS server, WPA employs TKIP (Temporal Key IntegrityProtocol) to change the temporal key every 10,000 packets. Thisinsures much greater security than the standard WEP security, whichrequires the keys to be changed manually.The DWL-2000AP supports 802.1x authentication for protectionagainst network intrusion. Used in conjunction with a RADIUSserver, this function provides a means to verify the identity of theclient before an access to the network is granted.This function brings a lot of convenience (when used in conjunctionwith other 802.11g products) for users that do not incorporate aRADIUS server in their networks. Utilizing the Pre Shared Keymode of WPA, the DWL-2000AP gives each user a new security keyevery time he connects to the 802.11g network.
