12AC VOLTAGE MEASUREMENTSWARNING: The probe tips may not be long enough to contactthe live parts inside some 240V outlets for appliances becausethe contacts are recessed deep in the outlets. As a result, thereading may show 0 volts when the outlet actually has voltageon it.WARNING: To avoid electric shock, make sure the probe tipsare touching the metal contacts inside the outlet beforeassuming no voltage is presentCAUTION: Do not measure AC voltages if a motor on thecircuit is being switched ON or OFF. Large voltage surges mayoccur that can damage the meter.1. Insert the black test lead into the negativeCOM terminal and the red test lead into thepositive V··CAP·TEMP·Hz· terminal.2. Set the function switch to the V Hz position.3. Use the MODE button to select AC Voltage.4. Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuitunder test.5. The clamp meter LCD will display the reading.V
