Makecertainthe augercontrolis inthe disengaged(released)position.2. Pushthe primerfiveto seven(5-7)times,makingsureto coverthevent holewhen pushing.6. Ifthe engineiswarm,pushthe primeronlyonce.7. Graspthe recoilstarterhandleandslowlypullthe ropeout.Atthepointwhereit becomesslightlyharderto pullthe rope,slowlyallowthe ropeto recoil.8. Pullthe starterhandlewith afirm, rapidstroke.Donot releasethe handleandallowit to snapback.Keepafirm holdon the starterhandleandallowit to slowlyrecoil.9. Allowthe engineto warmup severalminutes,adjustingchoketowardRUN__ _position.Wait untilenginerunssmoothlybeforeeachchokeMadjustment.Stopping the Engine1. Runthe engineforafew minuteswithoutengagingthe augerbeforestoppingto helpdry off anymoistureonthe engine.2. Tostopthe engineremovethe keyandstoreit in asafeplace.3. Wipeall the snowandmoistureawayfromthe enginecontrolsarea.Muffler, engine and surroundingareasbecomehotandcancausea burn.Becareful anddo not touchwhen they are hot.Engagingthe AugerEngagethe augerbysqueezingthe augercontrolagainstthe upperhandle.Releasethe controlto stoptheauger.Engagingthe DriveLift upslightlyon the upperhandleto allowthe rubberpaddleson theaugertocontactthe pavementandpropelthe snowthrowerforward.Pushingdownwardonthe handlewill raisethe augeroffthe groundandstopthe forwardmotion.NOTE:Excessiveupwardpressureonthe handlewill resultin prematurewearto the rubberaugerpaddles,whichwill not becoveredbythe warranty.Clearinga CloggedDischargeChuteHandcontactwith the rotatingimpellerinsidethe dischargechuteisthe mostcommoncauseof injuryassociatedwith snowthrowers.Neveruseyourhandtocleanout the dischargechute.Toclearthe chute:1. SHUTTHEENGINEOFF!2. Wait 10secondsto besurethe impellerbladeshavestoppedrotating.3. Alwaysuseaclean-outtool orstick,not yourhands.11
