Wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth.STORAGE• Never store a fueled unit where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.• Allow the engine to cool before storing.• Store the unit locked up to prevent unauthorized use or damage.• Store the unit in a dry, well-ventilated area.• Store the unit out of the reach of children.LONG TERM STORAGEIf you plan on storing the unit for an extended time, use thefollowing storage procedure:1. Carefully drain the fuel tank by running the unit dry or removefuel cap and tip the motor housing over and drain oil/gas fuelinto a container with the same 2-cycle fuel mixture. Do not usefuel that has been stored for more than 60 days.2. Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls. This ensuresthat all fuel has been drained from the carburetor.3. Allow the engine to cool. Remove the spark plug and put 5drops of any high quality motor oil or 2-cycle oil into thecylinder. Pull the starter rope slowly to distribute the oil.Reinstall the spark plug.NOTE: Remove the spark plug and drain all of the oil from thecylinder before attempting to start the unit after storage.4. Thoroughly clean the unit and inspect it for any loose ordamaged parts. Repair or replace damaged parts and tightenloose screws, nuts or bolts. The unit is ready for storage.MOVING THE UNIT1. Allow the unit to coolbefore moving.2. Loosen the knobs on thehandlebar.3. Fold the handlebars downas shown (Fig. 19).Tighten the knobs.4. Locate the muffler, but do not remove it. Find the screw on thebottom of the muffler (Fig. 17). This screw holds the Spark ArrestorHood Assembly and the spark arrestor screen to the bottom of themuffler. Remove this screw using either a Torx T20 or flat bladescrewdriver.3. Using a small flat bladescrewdriver, carefully pryup the spark arrestorscreen from the recessedhole, taking care to noticethat the “raised” part ofthe spark arrestor screenis inside the recessed hole.Remove the spark arrestorscreen from the muffler.4. Clean the spark arrestor screen with a wire brush. Replace it if itis damaged, or if you are unable to clean it thoroughly.5. Reinstall the spark arrestor screen by putting the “raised”portion of the screen inside the recessed hole of the muffler.Make sure that the spark arrestor screen fits flat against themuffler.6. Place the spark arrestor hood on top of the spark arrestor platewith the “raised” side up and the opening facing AWAY from theengine (Fig. 17). Verify that the exhaust will be directed AWAYfrom the engine.7. Replace the screw you removed in Step 2 and tighten securely.8.
