Proper care, performance tips, and safetyinformation is located in this important document.Always Check the OilLevel• Check the engine oil level.The engine in your tractor has beenshipped, from the factory, alreadyfilled with oil for use during the engine break-in period.Always check the oil level before starting the engine.mPush Unit Off CrateTo push the unit off the crate:Set BOTH transmissionrelease levers to PUSH posi-tion by pulling the levers back(levers are located at the rearof the rider).Cut the steel banding securing rider to pallet (6bands).Move the ground speed control levers in toDRIVE positions.Set the mower cutting height to its highest set-ting.Fold the cardboard used to crate the unit in half,and place it under the front wheels of the unit.Push the unit forward off the crate.mmmFill=Up with FRESHGasolineFill the tank with fresh fuel.The single most common serviceissue is stale or contaminated fuel!Fuel should not be more than 30 days old. Use fuelstabilizer to extend the life of your fuel, and alwaysstore fuel in an approved, sealed, plastic gas can.Stale fuel clean-out is not covered under your war-ranty.%one hour at 6-10Charge The Battery• Lift the seat deck to access thebattery. If the unit is put into serviceafter the month and year indicatedon the battery date tag (located ontop of battery) charge the battery foramps. Refer to the SERVICE &ADJUSTMENTS section of the operator's manual forbattery charging information.Check Tire PressureReduce the tire pressures to thepressures shown below. Tires areover-inflated for shipping purposes,and must be set to the correct pres-sures for optimum traction.Rear Tire Pressure: 10-12 PSISet the transmission release valve levers backto DRIVE positions (levers pushed in).mOFF"_, RUN_STARTStart The EngineTo start the engine:While sitting in the operator'sseat, place the ground speedcontrol levers in PARK (leversout). Make sure the yellowPTO switch is OFF.• Move the engine throttle control fully forward toFAST.Set the choke control to CLOSEDNOTE." A warm engine may not require choking. Inthis case, set the choke control to OPEN.Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn itto START.After the engine starts, gradually move thechoke control to OPEN position. Warm theengine by running it for at least a minute beforeturning on the PTO switch, or driving the unit.After warming the engine, ALWAYS operatethe unit with the throttle set to FAST positionwhen mowing.• See the OPERATION section for driving infor-mation.Front Tire Pressure: 18-20 PSi
