This solder may containmetals or chemicals that may be toxic if inhaled.Do not inhale dust, smoke, or fumes whenoperating.!WARNING: To avoid injury, do not use tipscontaining copper with following soldering guns:54044, 54045, 54046 and 54047. Use only Craftsmantips specified.!WARNING: Solder containing lead must never beused for plumbing applications. This soldering gunis not intended for plumbing connections and, ifused for this application, will likely result in poorquality plumbing joints.!1. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is widerthan the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, thisplug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way.If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do notmodify the plug in any way.2. Arrange a secure resting place on your worktable wherethe tip will never contact a flammable surface, your body,or the power cord. With a peak temperature of about1000°F, the tip may remain hot for several minutes afteryou release the trigger switch.3. To reduce the risk of burns, remove excess hot moltensolder from the tip by wiping with a damp cloth, dampsponge, or solder brush made for that purpose. Neverswing the gun.4. To protect eyes from splatter, wear safety gogglesmeeting requirements of ANSI Z87.1 (shown on safetygoggle package).5. To reduce the risk of destroying the tool, observe the20% “On” time duty cycle rating of a soldering gun. Thisrating means a maximum of 1 minute of “On” time over5 minutes total time. Never tie down the trigger switch.6. To reduce the risk of respiratory, eye, or skin irritation,keep your head out of the soldering fumes.7. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, fire, injury, orexplosion, work only in surroundings that are dry, and arefree from flammable materials including vapors and liquids.8.
