10APPLICATIONSAir compressors are utilized in a variety of air system applications.Match hoses, connectors, air tools, and accessories to thecapabilities of the air compressor. You may use this tool for purposes listed below:Operating air powered tools requiring less than1.8 SCFM @ 90 PSI or 2.6 SCFM @ 40 PSI.Powering pneumatic nail guns, inflating tires, cleaning /blowing with pressurized air.HOW TO USE YOUR AIR COMPRESSORSee figures 6 - 7.Do not allow familiarity with tools to makeyou careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a secondis sufficient to inflict serious injury.Always wear safety goggles or safetyglasses with side shields when operating power tools. Failureto do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyesresulting in possible serious injury.Do not use in an environment that is dusty orotherwise contaminated. Using the air compressor in this typeof environment may cause damage to the unit.Ensure the tank drain valve is closed (see fig. 6).Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF (O) position and theair compressor is unplugged (see fig. 6).Ensure the pressure regulator knob is turned fullycounterclockwise (see fig. 6).WARNINGWARNINGCAUTIONConnect the air powered tools to the air hose by inserting themale quick-connect plug to the quick-coupler at the end of thehose (see fig. 7).Always ensure the switch is in the OFF(O) position and the regulator pressure gauge reads zerobefore changing air tools or disconnecting the hose from theair outlet. Failure to do so could result in possible seriouspersonal injury.Connect the power cord to the power supply.Turn the ON/OFF switch to the ON (I) position.Rotate the pressure regulator knob to the desired linepressure. Turning the knob clockwise increases air pressureat the outlet; turning the knob counterclockwise reduces airpressure at the outlet.NOTE: Before connecting or disconnecting air tools, turn theregulator knob counterclockwise to stop the flow of air.Following all safety precautions in this manual and themanufacturer’s instructions in the air tool manual. You maynow use your air-powered tool.If using an inflation accessory with a quick-connect fitting, control the amount of air flow with the pressure regulator knob.Turning the knob fully counterclockwise will completely stopthe flow of air.NOTE: Always use the minimum amount of pressurenecessary for your application. Using a higher pressure thanneeded will drain air from the tank more rapidly and cause theunit to cycle on more frequently. When finished, always drain the tank and unplug the unit.Never leave the unit plugged in and/or running unattended.Check the air tool manual to insure thecorrect air pressure regulator setting for optimum operation ofyour air tools. If you are using an air tool not originally includedwith the air tool kit supplied with this air compressor, your toolmay require more air consumption than this air compressor isdesigned to supply.Always read your air tool owner’s manual to match the correctair supply to your air tool to avoid damage to the tool or risk ofpersonal injury.USING THE INFLATION HOSE WITH THUMB-LOCK CONNECTORInflating tires:See figures 8 - 11.Make sure the ball-valve at the base of the inflation hose is inthe OFF position (vertical to the hose) (Fig. 8).WARNINGWARNINGIf not already installed, attach the hose to the compressor.Apply thread sealing tape to male threaded end of the maleconnector fitting. Attach 1/4 in. NPT male connector fitting toaccessory or tool you intend to use (see fig. 7).Fig. 6DrainvalvePressureregulator knobOn/OffswitchBall-ValveclosedFig. 8Coil hosewith quickcouplerattached1/4 in. maleconnectorfittingFig. 7Blow gunThreadsealingtapeLong inflationchuck |
