31Basic FunctionsRecordingE When powered by a battery pack, the camcorder shuts off after 5 minuteswhen the camcorder is left without any operation to save power ( 75).Approximately 30 seconds before the camcorder shuts off, “ AUTOPOWER OFF” appears in the center of the screen. If the camcorder shutsoff, turn the POWER switch to OFF and back on again. About the LCD and viewfinder screen: The screens are produced withextremely high-precision manufacturing techniques, with more than99.99% of the pixels operating to specification. Less than 0.01% of thepixels may occasionally misfire or appear as black or green dots. This hasno effect on the recorded image and does not constitute a malfunction.Screen Displays during RecordingTime CodeIndicates the recording time in hours,minutes and seconds.Remaining tapeIndicates the remaining time of the tapein minutes. “ ” moves duringrecording. “ END” flashes when thetape reaches the end.• When the time left is less than 15seconds, the remaining tape time maynot appear.• Depending on the type of the tape, theindication may not be displayedcorrectly.Remaining battery chargeThe battery symbol indicates the chargestatus of the battery pack.• “ ” starts flashing in red when thebattery pack is empty.• When you attach an empty batterypack, the power may turn off withoutdisplaying “ ”.• The actual battery charge may not beindicated accurately depending on thecondition under which battery packand camcorder are used.Recording reminderThe camcorder counts from 1 to 10seconds when you start recording. Thisis helpful to avoid scenes that are tooshort.
