6Acceptable PaperThis section describes the paper that can be used with this machine. It also provides a list of acceptablepaper sizes and paper types, and information on paper that might damage the machine.Note that if the machine is damaged when using paper other than paper in this guide, this machine is notcovered under warranty.While Canon USA, Inc. (“Canon USA”) strongly recommends that Canon branded media be used withCanon brand devices whenever possible, Canon USA understands that alternatives may be available.Therefore, as an aid to end-users of Canon imagePRESS Digital Print Systems (the “Devices”), CanonUSA tested, in limited quantities, certain media with Devices operated and maintained in accordance withthe Devices’ specifications, using only Canon genuine parts and consumables. Canon USA found that,during the course of this testing, Devices using this media functioned in accordance with theirspecifications. As a result, subject to the foregoing, Canon USA finds this media acceptable for use in theDevices (hereinafter “Acceptable Media”).Please note that Canon USA: (1) does not endorse the Acceptable Media; (2) makes no assurances thatthe Acceptable Media will perform in any particular end-user's Device and; (3) recommends that end-usersconsult with their servicing dealer to (a) confirm that use of any Acceptable Media with the end-user'sDevice will not affect any servicing agreement with such dealer, and (b) to ensure that the Device isoperated and maintained in the appropriate environmental and other conditions stated in the operator'smanual.Please note that the specifications of a particular Acceptable Media may be changed by the manufacturerso as to affect its acceptability to Canon USA. Canon USA intends to test other media in the future andrecommends that end-users check with their servicing dealers for future updates to the list of AcceptableMedia.If an Acceptable Media nevertheless does not perform in accordance with the end-user’s expectations,Canon USA suggests that the end-user use Canon branded media designated for the end-user’s Device.Canon branded media has been tested and qualified to meet Canon quality specifications for both feedand image under normal office conditions (68 degrees F – 80.6 degrees F/30-70% Relative Humidity).Canon branded media maintains consistent performance for end-users because Canon branded mediaspecifications are fixed and monitored through Canon’s stringent quality control standards for product andproduct packaging.
