Do not attempt to disassemble or repair themachine yourself.IMPORTANTIMPORTANT If you attempt to repair the machine byyourself, it may void the limited warranty.Contact your local authorized Canon dealeror the Canon help line for assistance.Please have the following information ready when youcontact Canon.• Product name• Serial number• Place of purchase• Nature of problem• Steps you have taken to solve the problem and theresultsIf you cannot solve the problemVerify that the cables are connectedproperly and that the power isswitched ON (See the Starter Guide.)1Verify that the Error indicator is noton or blinking.• Make sure that paper is loaded properly(→p.19).• Remove any jammed paper (→p.60).• Turn OFF the power, wait for more than10 seconds, and then turn it ON again.Verify that the machine is not inSleep mode (→ p.24).• If the [Energy Saver] key blinks, press it toexit the Sleep mode.2Verify that no message appears onthe display.• If a message appears, resolve the problem(→p.65).Press [Status Monitor/Cancel] tocheck the status of the machine.• If there are jobs in process, wait until the jobsare finished.
