Pinch the paper guide and slide it tothe left. Load the printer with a few sheets ofblank paper, then slide the paper guidetoward the left edge of the paper.6PaperGuideclickPaper RestPaper Output TrayFront CoverclickSlide the print head into the holder.The print head will rest at a slight angle.Remove the print head from its package.Remove the orange protective capfrom the print head.NOTE: Do not touch the print head nozzlesand the electrical contacts.Lower the lock lever and press it downuntil it clicks into place.Raise the gray lock lever on the printer.Electrical ContactsPrint Head NozzlesTear at notch to openPlug the power cord into the back of theprinter and connect the other end to apower outlet.Open the front cover. The print head holderautomatically moves to the center. Removethe protective tape.Write down the serial number located tothe right of the print head holder . You willneed this later to register the product.Serial NumberShipping TapeProtective TapeHandlePress the POWER button. The printerwill initialize.Remove the shipping tape from thefront and back of the printer.Remove the printer from the box by usingthe plastic bag handle.POWERLampPOWERButtoni9900 SeriesPhoto PrinterCarefully remove all items from the box.Documentationand Software KitPeel back the orange tab and completelyremove the plastic wrapper from the YellowInk Tank (BCI-6Y).Twist off and discard the orange protective cap.Insert the remaining seven ink tanks intotheir assigned slots.Close the front cover. Otherwise, use the bottom port.IMPORTANT: Be sure the printer isoff before continuing, or the computerwill attempt to install the printerdriver before the printer is ready.NOTE: The i9900 Series Photo Printeris equipped with both USB 2.0 Hi-Speedand USB ports.
